SAMv Board – Adhered Masonry Substrate

SAMv Board is a high-density fibre cement sheet engineered specifically for adhered masonry and schist veneer systems. It provides a stable, durable substrate that enhances bond strength and long-term performance in demanding New Zealand conditions.

Designed for Adhered Masonry

SAMv Board has been selected for its density, dimensional stability, and compatibility with stone veneer systems, including schist and masonry finishes. Its performance characteristics support reliable adhesion while minimising substrate movement.

Installation Orientation

• Smooth face: Installed against framing

• Rough face: Facing outward to receive adhesive and stone

Correct orientation is essential to achieving optimal bond performance.

🔴 IMPORTANT – WATERPROOFING NOTICE

Do NOT apply liquid-applied or membrane waterproofing to SAMv Board.

SAMv Board is designed to operate as part of the SAMv Adhered Masonry System, where:

• The board itself, together with

• SAMv joint tape and approved detailing,

forms the water-resistive barrier (rainscreen layer) behind the adhered masonry system.

Additional waterproofing membranes are not required and may compromise system performance.

System Intent

• SAMv Board + SAMv joint tape = primary water-resistive barrier

• Adhesive and stone veneer sit outboard of this layer

• System is designed to manage moisture without secondary membranes

Installer Note

Do not substitute alternative waterproofing products unless specifically detailed as part of an approved SAMv system variation.
